Barb Greenebaum’s Big Ride Across America

I’m a 55 year old woman who has been training for this ride since January. I rode 30 miles the first week in January and I’ve been riding in the rain, snow, and sun since then to get in shape for the journey. I can’t wait! And there’s been a huge benefit to all this riding– I’ve lost 40 lbs and the panniers on my hips are much smaller now

I’ll be riding this fund raiser for the American Lung Association for all of us who suffer from asthma. This will be my 4th sabbatical from Intel. In the past, I’ve used my sabbatical to explore returning to school (that was my first and I eventually finished my BS Mat Sci) and in travel. Those sabbaticals benefited just me. For this one, I wanted to do something where I can help out others and this effort to support the American Lung Association fits the bill for me since I am an asthmatic.
